Mount remote files locally<\/h2>\n

This little guide describes the easy way to mount files from another system as a partition. This simplifies the daily work enormously, because you can quickly and easily find and copy the appropriate files in e.g. a backup partition.<\/p>\n

What we need is FUSE (filesystem in userspace) and SSHFS. This is available under Centos7 in the EPEL repository.<\/p>\n

If it is not yet installed, you can install it with <\/p>\n

yum install epel-release<\/code><\/p>\n

install and use.<\/p>\n

Installation of fuse and sshfs<\/h2>\n

yum install fuse sshfs<\/code><\/p>\n

Load FUSE module<\/p>\n

fashion sample fuse<\/code><\/p>\n

Optional: Load FUSE module on restart<\/p>\n

echo \"modprobe fuse\" >> \/etc\/rc.local<\/code><\/p>\n

Use SSHFS<\/p>\n

Once the module is loaded we can use sshfs. To do this we simply type the following command:<\/p>\n

sshfs username@hostname:\/path_to_directory \/local_directory<\/code><\/p>\n

for instance<\/p>\n

sshfs root@192.168.10.10:\/geheimedaten \/safe<\/code><\/p>\n
