EdgeConneX expands its Phoenix data center with new 48 IX Internet Exchange<\/b><\/h2>\n

EdgeConneX(R), the pioneer in edge data center(R) development, announced that 48 IX, a new Phoenix-based Internet exchange, is now available for connectivity at the EdgeConneX Phoenix Edge Data Center(R) (EDC), PHX-01. The 80,908 sq. ft. EdgeConneX is located 16 km from downtown Phoenix. ft. The facility was selected as 48 IX's first landing point because of its customer base, which consists primarily of ISPs, content providers and cloud providers.<\/p>\n

\"48 IX's goal is to provide direct peering to reduce latency and cost while increasing performance, and ultimately help put Phoenix on the map as a major peering point in the U.S.,\" said Matt Love, president of 48 IX. \"Since our goal is to provide a platform through which networks can be easily interconnected, EdgeConneX's Phoenix Edge data center made the most sense with its existing customer base.\"<\/p>\n

Founded in 2020 as a non-profit company, 48 IX places a high value on open communication, performance, security and neutrality. Almost all of 48 IX's provisioning is fully automated, which means that subscriber ports are called very quickly with a recently provisioned network that is deployed within about 5 minutes after agreements are executed. 48 IX offers 1 Gbit \/ s and 10 Gbit \/ s ports at the same cost, covering the costs of the non-profit.<\/p>\n

Currently active networks on the Internet exchange include Stellar Technologies, Hurricane Electric, Cloudflare<\/a> and WhiteSky Communications. 48 IX also actively communicates with all networks in EdgeConneX's PHX-01 listed in PeeringDB.<\/p>\n
