Daartoe, volgens de verklaring van eis (pagina 57), ging Google naar verluidt een overeenkomst aan in 2015, kort nadat WhatsApp werd gekocht door Facebook, dat de groep \"toegang gaf tot miljoenen end-to-end gecodeerde WhatsApp-berichten, foto's, video's en audiobestanden van Amerikanen\".<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Of deze beschuldiging daadwerkelijk waar is, moet in de lopende procedure worden opgehelderd. Daartoe evalueren de rechtbanken onder meer talrijke interne bedrijfsdocumenten, waarvan sommige echter in de gepubliceerde rechtszaak zijn geblindeerd.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-pullquote\"><blockquote><p>\"Google's interne documenten geven de leugen aan het publieke imago van slimme Google-technici die plezier hebben op hun zonnige Mountain View-campus, terwijl ze proberen de wereld beter te maken.\"<\/p><cite>Paxton<\/cite><\/blockquote><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Het is echter technisch niet mogelijk voor Google om toegang te krijgen tot de end-to-end gecodeerde communicatie. Het is dan ook zeer waarschijnlijk dat Google op grond van de overeenkomst slechts tot april 2016 toegang kreeg tot de WhatsApp-gegevens, omdat er voor die datum geen versleuteling bestond. Bovendien zou het mogelijk zijn dat Google nog steeds back-ups van WhatsApp-gebruikers evalueert omdat deze ongecodeerd worden opgeslagen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-manipulation-bei-online-werbung\">Manipulatie in online reclame<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Naast de beschuldiging van misbruik van gegevens wordt Google in de rechtszaak ook beschuldigd van manipulatie van online reclame. Concreet gaat het om zogenaamde header bidding, waarbij website-exploitanten hun advertentieruimte parallel op verschillende reclamemarkten kunnen aanbieden.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Volgens de rechtszaak zag Google dit als een bedreiging voor zijn bedrijfsmodel. Het bedrijf wordt er daarom van beschuldigd dat het headerbieden heeft overgenomen, maar de advertenties vervolgens zo heeft gemanipuleerd dat Google-advertenties werden gespeeld, zelfs als een concurrent een hoger bod op de advertentieruimte had uitgebracht. In een <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theverge.com\/2020\/12\/16\/22178988\/google-antitrust-ad-tech-lawsuit-texas-attorney-general-paxton\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener
