.gg is the country-specific top-level domain (ccTLD) of the island of Guernsey. This domain has existed since August 7, 1996. The top-level domain is administered by the Island Network, which is located on the island in the English Channel and also administers the country-specific top-level domain of Jersey (.je) of the neighbouring island.
Guernsey is the second largest British island in the English Channel between England and France. As of mid-2018, more than 62,000 people live on the popular tourist island. The capital of the island is called St. Peter Port.
The .gg domain is released to applicants by the Iceland Network through an automated system. Nevertheless, the registration of the address can take up to three working days. Anyone can order a .gg domain from the Island Network, but the applicant does not have to live on the island itself, but can also live on the other side of the world.
