.us is the country-specific domain extension of the United States of America (USA).
The domain extension .us was introduced on February 15th, 1985 and is administered by the registry NeuStar. Since 2002, it has been possible to register this domain also on the second and third level. The registration of some second level domains is reserved for citizens and companies of certain US states.
