Google Analytics and the search engine optimization

According to statistics, every second website operator in Germany relies on the web analysis tool Google Analytics. Google Analytics is a tool that offers a wide range of possibilities to create your website to bring it up to scratch. For online merchants, the linking possibilities with AdSense, Google AdWords and Search Console are of interest. It is often important to know where customers come from and what they like about the website. In most cases, for example, it is almost impossible to find out why an order was not placed. Or the turnover should grow steadily and the conversion rate is too low. Using the tools of Google Analytics it is possible to optimize the corresponding offer, marketing campaigns and also the success of advertisements can be measured with Google Analytics.

Log in

When you log in for the first time, you will see the dashboard. Here you get all the information about page views, session duration or users. You also have the option to receive a weekly report via the dashboard. This way you always have an overview of what is happening. You can save the most frequently accessed reports under the heading "Shortcuts". A quick access to these Data is through unproblematic.

Radar events

You can get an overview of how your customers acted under the menu item "Radar events". This overview can be divided into daily, weekly or monthly activities. This enables you to determine whether traffic has been lost or whether visiting time has increased.
You can see how many visitors are currently on your site under the menu item "Real time". The same applies to the page views and the respective location.

Target group

You can learn more about your users under the menu item "Target group". Here you can see graphically, the page impressions, the users, the sessions, the session duration and the bounce rate. You can also find out about the behaviour and interests of the users. You can also find out how many of the visitors visit your website via smartphone, desktop computer or tablet. This will give you information about a responsive design of your website.

Acquisition

Surely it is also interesting for you to know on which way the visitors came to your website. The menu item "Acquisition" tells you whether this was done via direct input or via social media. It makes sense to use this area regularly.

Conduct

Information about actions and execution of your visitors can be found in the "Behavior" section. The flow of behaviour is displayed here graphically. Within the "Behaviour" section under the menu item "Website content" in the behavioural flow, you can obtain information about page impressions and bounce rates. At the same time, the visiting times and page value are displayed. There is also the In-Page Analysis under the "Behaviour" section in the Behaviour Flow. This is of interest if you regularly update your homepage. Here you can see in percentage terms how many people click on which button and also on which button they click on the bottom. This allows you to see where the focus of your website lies. However, you do not have to carry out a weekly check here.

Conversions

Under the tab "Conversions" you have the possibility to define individual goals. This can also be measured by advertising campaigns. Here you can also measure the success of downloads or registrations for a newsletter. If you run an online shop, the subfolder E-Commerce is of particular interest to you.
