Hacking Mittwald? Customer portal switched off

This morning there was a customer circular from the provider Mittwald informing their customers that since 11/14/18 there has been a suspicion that on Data of the company was accessed. The customer center has been deactivated for the time being.

Evidence that customer data has been successfully accessed is expressly not available at present. However, the provider is already working with cybercrime experts from the police and external forensic experts and has informed the data protection authority.

No further details are available at present.

In the next few hours, a special interface will be created where customers can change their passwords.

It remains to be hoped that there won't be another major data theft like the one that occurred just a few weeks ago at the provider Domainfactory, which belongs to Hosteurope/godaddy.
