vmware - virtual hard disk is not included in the backup

VMWARE  - Datastore - Backup with Veeam or other programs - Snapshot

Problem:

When you perform a scheduled backup of the virtual machine, for example, using Veeam, the first time you perform a backup, a warning message appears with the following message

Disk has been skipped because it was excluded from processing by user

Cause:

The specified disk was created with the disk mode "Independent - Permanent" or "Non-Permanent". This causes the Data can be written immediately and permanently to the hard disk, or not. In both cases, the data is not stored in snapshots.

Solution:

Shut down the virtual machine and set the Disk Mode to Dependent. Then snapshots will be created and your data will be backed up.
