The domain .gripe belongs to the new generic top-level domains and is suitable for personal reputation management as well as for rating portals and feedback forms.

The domain is managed by the registry Donuts, which has implemented the domain since 2014. The domain extension was primarily created for various rating portals and for the possibility to leave feedback. It is therefore generally suitable for personal reputation management.

The new top-level domains were introduced in 2013 by the Internet administration ICANN. The background to the introduction was that there should be more short and memorable domain endings. These had previously been limited to country-specific endings such as .de, .it etc. and general endings such as .com.

Since many people prefer a special domain extension that matches the service offered, the new domain extensions are very well suited for this. The extension .gripe, for example, can be described as "complaint" in German. This reflects the actual purpose of the domain very well.

On a rating portal there are of course not only positive opinions. Therefore, a visitor of the portal can recognize very well by the ending .gripe that he can leave a feedback about the respective institution here. This can be used for a restaurant visit, a company or other portals. The advantage of .gripe is that this top-level domain can be used in many different ways and is understood in the same way worldwide.
