The domain extension .pt is the country-specific top-level domain from Portugal, located in the extreme southwest of Europe, more precisely in the west of the Liberian Peninsula. The top-level domain was launched on 30 June 1988 and is administered by Assis Neves Guerreiro, the Foundation for National Scientific Computing based in Lisbon, the Portuguese capital. The domain extension is spread over eight servers.

Award guidelines

Until 1 May 2012, only companies, freelancers, public or private institutions and trademark holders were allowed to register a domain address ending in .pt.
